They were not invented for this arena. They were remembered into it. Priscus and Verus fought at the opening of the Flavian Amphitheatre — the first Colosseum — under Titus. They fought so long, and so evenly, that neither could be made to fall. The crowd roared for their release. The emperor obeyed his own law: he freed them both, and gave the palm to each. The poet Martial kept the only line that mattered: cum duo pugnarent, victor uterque fuit.“when two fought, each was the victor.” — Martial, De Spectaculis, AD 80 Nineteen centuries later the engine sealed the draw on-chain: two mints, matched, locked in mutual tension — a fight with no losing side, because the balance is the win. The arena's floor was poured this week. Liquidity on the pair went from rounding-error to real — three orders of magnitude in eight days, sealed full-range as the rest of the Reliquary. The fight didn't change; the room around the fight did. Observed depth shift:
